Prologue
Two intrepid youngsters come of age and happen to attend the same college. Their paths coming closer together but never quite crossing. Life, thankfully, had a digital twist in store. Introductions were made by the hottest singles app of the 2010’s. She knew what she wanted; he didn’t have a clue. They complement one another.
The Early Days
It all started over a basket of fried mushrooms in The Heidelberg, Columbia Missouri, 2016. They chatted about who-knows-what, he batted his baby blues, she commented on the quality of the ranch dressing, and they have been a pair ever since. Those first few years were all about med school, lindy hop, women’s rugby, great friends… and building a foundation as a couple. Then they moved into a tiny apartment in Tacoma Washington, made great new friends, explored the Pacific Northwest, adopted Bella, adopted a teardrop camper, survived residency, survived a pandemic, travelled a whole lot, spent time with family, and bought a house. And then they had a baby! And through it all, Chase and Audra remained steady, solid, lifting each other up, growing together, figuring it out, strengthening the foundation.
Live laugh loving together
Nowadays, this current phase feels like a moment to reflect, and live the life that they built together. Chase started making fancy cocktails, Audra’s digging into the garden, Maeve is practicing her viking yells, and Bella is learning how to retrieve a beer from the fridge. They’re discovering the stressful pride of home-ownership. Chase is building computers and gaining techy skills, and recently learned to fly planes. Audra has embraced open-water swimming, and soaks in all the baby cuddles she can get. They love to host little themed parties, go camping, and play Dungeons and Dragons.
